Narrative Immersion

Egyptian Embassy Letter to the children

Christingle

The children each made a Christingle and went to Saint Bart's church to sing their hearts out for our Christingle service. As a class, we sung 'Let it Go' from Frozen, which the children really enjoyed.

Mummifying Fish

The children had lots of fun learning about the Ancient Egyptian process of mummification and they even got to mummify a sardine! Needless to say, there was lots of squealing and a rather fishy smell from the classroom!

WORKOUT FOR WATER

The Year 6 children organised a 'Workout for Water,' where parents were invited to join in with our Born to Move session and ended in a whole school Born to Move dance! We are very proud to say that we raised £162.50 which will provide a water pump (UNICEF) and were even sent a video from the Born to Move head office, thanking the children for their hard work.

PC Whitehouse Talks

The Year 5/6 children have had two talks by PC Whitehouse to promote Anti-Bullying and British Values. This is to raise awareness of anti-bullying with the children and to help children understand what it means to be British, which is a government initiative.

River Building

The children, in Geography, are learning all about rivers. They recently built their own rivers, in the School Garden, during their outdoor learning time. The children thought it was great and wanted to stay out there all day.

Congratulations to Mason who won a Halloween competition for the best costume.

Harvest Festival - The children all sang a rendition of the High School Musical song, 'We're all in this together,' as their year group theme was togetherness. They sang phenomenally!

In Science, the children have been learning about the body.  They even had the chance to dissect a heart (cow's heart). Although they thought it wasn't pleasant, the children were fully intrigued.

The children have all produced some amazing homework projects, based on the topic 'Ancient Egypt'.

A big ‘HELLO’ from me, Miss Adamson. I’m really excited to be working together with the support of Mrs. Garside, Mrs. Burhouse and Mrs. Pollard. The majority of teaching, during the morning, will be through team teaching, where we can target children, using teacher intervention. The children will have myself for Literacy and Mrs Wood for Maths.

All the children have settled into their classes very well and are enthusiastic and raring to go, which is great to see. If you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to make an appointment with me. Alternatively, send me an email to  e.adamson@themjs.org or Mrs Wood at m.wood@themjs.org.
