The Inspiring Teachers Programme
"Every teacher needs to improve, not because they are not good enough, but because they can be better." Dylan Wiliam
ITP stands for the Inspiring Teachers Programme. Through this eight week programme, we aim to inspire staff to try new things and to become a reflective practitioner. Staff get the opportunity to discuss and share with colleagues and come away with literally hundreds of new ideas. Week by week the programme builds on the key six ideas that The MJS embed in every learning experience: connect, learning objectives, new information, challenge, demonstrate and review and reflect. Staff also have the option to build additional modules onto the programme including higher-level questioning, stretching the more able and ambitious and Habits of Mind.
The ITP is not a lecture style course. Staff are engaged through experiential learning and by using the six-part model we use in every learning experience at The MJS. During the course, staff keep a reflective diary and record what they have tried to feed back to the group.
