Welcome to Year 3's page! We would like to say a big hello from the Year 3 team! Along with the teachers above we also have Mrs Garside, Mrs Beardsell and Miss Perrons supporting in the classroom. We are hoping you find lots of  useful information on here, including homework, what we have been learning about in class and links to important documents!

The children have settled into their new classes really well and are enjoying being with the older children, which is lovely! If you have any comments or concerns then please approach us in the playground, or alternatively you can email us at:

PE Kits to be brought in on Monday and left until Friday

Homework is handed out every Tuesday, to be brought back in the following Tuesday unless stated otherwise.

Spelling tests are on a Friday.

Read at least three times a week with comments.

Our current class book is: 'Danny the Champion of the World' by Roald Dahl.

My Maths (

All the children have a copy of their login details. If they lose them, please don't hesitate to email us.

This week, there is a MyMaths activity to be completed. 

This is due in on Monday 24th September 2018.



This week the Maths activity is to complete a timed multiplication grid (working on their times table knowledge). Once the children have completed it, record the time on your multiplication grid.

All the children have a copy of their spelling list for the year. If they lose them, please don't hesitate to email us.

This week the children are learning 10 of the Year 3 and 4 Common Exception words. These are:

  • address
  • complete
  • favourite
  • learn
  • popular
  • special
  • although
  • consider


Write each word 5 times, switching the hand you write it with each time. Say the word as you spell it.

They attend meetings with the other school council members from across school to share ideas of their own their class' views and opinions.

Roald Dahl Day

The children had a brilliant time for Roald Dahl Day. They were able to dress up as their favourite character as well as some exciting activities linked to Roald Dahl books.
