Here at Marsden Junior School, we are passionate and committed to providing the children in our care with outstanding learning opportunities.
Our aim is to enrich every child’s school experience and create an environment where they are encouraged to succeed and be the best they can be.
Cultural capital is about preparing children with the knowledge and skills for what comes next. We realise the exploration of new skills and experiences helps to nurture resilience, curiosity and creativity. Ultimately, this leads to the growth of new forms of cultural capital that makes a difference in individual mindsets and shapes the future.
The intent of our enrichment weeks and additional curriculum initiatives such as Culture days, school trips and Leaver's DVDs are to help our children experience the awe and wonder of the world in which they live. This is so important here at Marsden Junior because what children learn, with us, will stay with them forever.
Below are some of the experiences that our children will have to complete on their bespoke 'Cultural Capital' journey and ultimately enable them to graduate their year group. These experiences, will enrich our children with new and exciting opportunities as well as helping them to embrace our four core values of respect, integrity, teamwork and aspirations.
We look forward to the children sharing their special journey with us over the next twelve months...
