  • Monday 15 March 2021 World Book Day World Book Day was last week, but we thought you might like to see some pictures. The children at home and at school loved the Masked Reader activity, and the whole school even managed to write an entire story together! Each year group wrote one chapter of the story and then Miss Adamson shared the full tale in her assembly. A lot of fun was had by everyone and it reminded us all how much we love to read!
  • Monday 15 March 2021 Well-being Day The Barnabus Project formed the basis of our wellbeing day. Mrs Mansell read the story in her assembly and then all the classes did a host of creative activities around the book. Year 6 pupils made Feeling First Aid Kits, which they filled with positive phrases about themselves, a squishy to help remove any frustrations, a character to cuddle and many more elements which encourage them to take care. Year 5 created their own mazes and then supported their blindfolded partners to get out of the maze safely. All the children created some amazing ‘failed pets’ out of clay, which they housed in glass jars, naming them with very unusual and catchy names. The book encouraged us to think about following our dreams and finding where we belonged. A really positive day, full of activities!

Our off timetable wellbeing day on Monday, enabled us all to take a breath and think about our different experiences over lockdown. It gave the children an opportunity to really consider the range of different emotions they had experienced and share the good and the tricky times with each other. It also allowed our pupils to have time to reconnect with their friends. A really positive experience for us all. I want to reassure you that this reflective, nurturing approach is not a one day fix, and wellbeing will continue to be a vital part of our curriculum as we move away from lockdown. Please remember that we are alw
