As many of you will know, the Holmfirth and Marsden communities are working hard to help raise the £6000 targeted by the Candlelighters charity to help a young boy named Reuben. When our school council heard about the fundraising events that have been taking place, they wanted to do something to help. On Tuesday 15th October, they raised an enormous £270 by setting up a sponsored obstacle course for their classmates to enjoy. Well done and thank you to all involved!
Response from Reuben’s Mum: “There are times in life when you realise how kind hearted people
really are. Through no contact of ourselves, Marsden School decided they wanted to support us in reaching our target. Yesterday, in school, they had a fund raising day where they set up an obstacle course and the children all paid to take part. We are so so thankful and overwhelmed by the love and support the school has shown us even though they don’t know us. We will keep going until we reach our target. “
