First Week Back

This week has been a great one; it has been wonderful to welcome all our children and families back to school. We really missed you all! For many children and parents it was a happy prospect, for some it was filled with anxiety and for lots of our community it was a mixture of both emotions. The focus on wellbeing is always paramount at MJS, and this week was no exception. Our off timetable wellbeing day on Monday, enabled us all to take a breath and think about our different experiences over lockdown. It gave the children an opportunity to really consider the range of different emotions they had experienced and share the good and the tricky times with each other. It also allowed our pupils to have time to reconnect with their friends. A really positive experience for us all. I want to reassure you that this reflective, nurturing approach is not a one day fix, and wellbeing will continue to be a vital part of our curriculum as we move away from lockdown. Please remember that we are always here for you and ask that if you have any concerns or worries, to contact us through the school office or your child’s class teacher. We are definitely stronger together
